Flexible Joint Tape

AJ Waterproofing’s Flexible joint tape (made with SIKA Igas®) is used as part of the original multi-coat tanking system with Sika-1 additive. It is primarily used to fully water seal floor wall junctions, lintel junctions, front and back vault arches, coal holes, and concrete soffits/brick wall junctions.

The flexible joint tape would be used as a replacement for a similar but more costly system such as Hypalon joint and would make up an integral component within the multicoat tanking system. It is applied in the first splatter coat as adhesive and then covered with subsequent tanking layers. An example of its application can be seen in the drawing to the right.

This product is sold in the form of an easy-to-apply roll (see right) which opens out into a flexible joint tape. Each roll holds 1.7m of tape. For a small residential basement, approximately 20-50m of the flexible joint tape would be used.

AJ Waterproofing’s flexible joint tape has been used on-site to British Standard (BS8102) for basement waterproofing as part of the original multicoat tanking system for over 14 years, yielding very successful results.
